"This tale of ambition and its cost — and its collateral damage — is Blanchett’s movie, and she delivers a tour de force in every scene."
Seattle Times

Set in the international world of Western classical music, the film centres on Lydia Tár who is widely considered as one of the greatest living composer-conductors and the first-ever female music director of a major German orchestra. Just days away from recording the symphony that will define her career, all elements seem to conspire against her, and she is thrown into crisis, of her own making and otherwise. TÁR examines the changing nature of power, its impact and durability in our modern world and features a powerful, moving performance by Cate Blanchett.
