This guide has everything you need to make the most of your experience, from getting to the event to key details once you’re inside.

LOCATION
Westpac OpenAir is located at Fleet Steps on Mrs Macquaries Point in the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney. Access to the event is via Mrs Macquaries Road (directly opposite Boy Charlton Pool on the Point), or on foot via the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney (but please note that the Botanic Garden’s gates are locked at 8pm, so after this time the only access and egress is via Mrs Macquaries Road).
If you are coming to our event on Australia day, 26th January, please note the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney gate closures will be much earlier in the day. TICKETING
General Public tickets on sale via the Film Program from 9am, 8 December.
We have many different ticket options available this season for you to enjoy! Learn about them below and choose what suits you best.
FEEL GOOD FRIDAY: $33 (incl. b.f)
This is our discounted General Admission ticket, available only on Friday night sessions (excluding Opening Night Jan 9, 2026). Films on these nights are programmed with a good time in mind. This ticket gives you all the benefits of a General Admission ticket but for less.
GENERAL ADMISSION (THE POINT): $44 (incl. b.f)
Our General Admission ticket means you reserve your own dining and cinema seat on arrival, allowing you to select their preferred seating location on a first-come, first-served basis. Perfect for those after a laid-back experience before the film begins. Soak up stunning harbour views from Sydney’s best vantage point, enjoy a bite to eat from Luke Nguyen’s mouthwatering Vietnamese menu, sip on a few bevies, and groove to tunes spun by Sydney’s hottest DJs. Gates open at 6pm.
CHANDON GARDEN TICKETS: $60 (Regular) and $70 (incl. b.f)
The Chandon Garden is an exclusive dining precinct boasting fabulous Sydney Harbour views. From your reserved dining seat, enjoy seamless table service for food, easily ordered via QR code, and a reserved cinema seat for the film. The Chandon Garden features its own dedicated bar for quick drinks service, so you can relax without needing to leave the area. Guests will enjoy our new seafood-led menu, alongside bubbles, spritzes, cocktails, beers, and fine wines. Gates open at 6pm.
There are two-tiers of Chandon Garden tickets in 2026; Chandon Garden ($60) and Chandon Garden – Waterside ($70) which secures a dining table in the front row, closest to the seawall, reserved for groups of 2 and 4.
WESTPAC TERRACE: $60 (incl. b.f)

The Westpac Terrace offers exclusive star treatment, available only to Westpac customers – your front-row access to the best that Westpac OpenAir has to offer.
Arrive from 6pm and enjoy fast-tracked entry through the Westpac Terrace priority lane, followed by a reserved dining table overlooking the sparkling Sydney Harbour. Relax and soak in the atmosphere at the world’s most beautiful cinema while enjoying premium table service for food and drinks and take your seat in Westpac’s best seats in the house for the film.
Westpac Terrace tickets are strictly limited each night and require a Westpac access code for purchase – secure your ultimate Westpac OpenAir experience before they sell out!
SUMMER HOUSE DINING: $99 (incl. b.f)
Our most premium experience awaits with a reservation at our full-service restaurant, Summer House Dining by Danielle Alvarez. Indulge in an exquisite menu created by renowned chef Danielle Alvarez, complemented by fine wines and handcrafted cocktails, all within a fully weather-protected dining environment, and paired with premium reserved cinema seating.
For this experience, guests must arrive by 6:30pm, giving you ample time to enjoy the dining experience before the film begins at approximately 8:30pm.
Each ticket has a $4 booking fee attached.

Since establishing the event in Sydney in 1998, dining and enjoying drinks with friends has been at the heart of it all. Partnering with leading restauranteurs and caterers, each year we create a spectacular al fresco dining experience on the harbour’s edge, seating more than a thousand guests nightly.

GETTING HERE
Walking
You can enter our event via Mrs Macquaries Road, continuing past the Art Gallery towards Fleet Steps. Prior to 8pm you can also walk to the event via the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney, following the shoreline from Sydney Opera House to the Yurong Gate.
All gates to the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney strictly close at 8pm. You cannot enter or exit the event via the Garden after this time. The quickest route back to the city following the film is via Mrs Macquaries Rd.
Driving
Metered Parking
There are more than 200, 24-hour, metered parking spaces on Mrs Macquaries Road, each charged at the following rates:
8am to 8pm $9/hr
8pm to 8am $5/hr.
Motorcycles parked in a metered space are required to pay the metered fee
The NSW Park’N Pay app is available to download from: App Store, Google Play or QR code available at each meter on Mrs Macquaries Road and Hospital Road or include on OpenAir website.
With the NSW Park’N Pay Application motorists can make payment and top up their parking instantly and remotely from anywhere. Handy if screening runs late or if insufficient payment was made initially. It also reminds patrons when their meter is about to expire. You can create an account or pay as a guest on the day.
Car Park
The closest car park is the Domain Car Park, an 8-10 minute walk to & from our event site. You can pre-book and save, otherwise flat-fee prices are below:

Public Transport
The closest train stations are Martin Place and St James. The closest bus stops are on Macquarie Street, and on Phillip Street.

Accessibility
For holders of Disability Parking Permits, permits can be used anywhere along Mrs Macquaries Rd and designated parking bays are also provided near The Royal Botanic Garden Woolloomooloo Gate and outside the Art Gallery of NSW.
Wheelchair access is available inside our venue including reserved seating in the front half of the cinema, all hospitality areas, and toilet facilities (located just inside the entrance).
Customers with accessible seating requirements can book tickets online. Please then contact us at tickets@summertix.com.au with your order number, so we can ensure you’re seated in the most accessible area for your needs (generally at the back of Section 4, and in front of Fleet Steps). If you hold a companion card and would like to add a ticket to your order, please include this request in your email to us. Tickets are subject to availability at the time of booking. Book early to secure your seats.
CINEMA SEATING
There are a range of different seating options within our ticket types.
WEATHER & CANCELLATION
As an outdoor event, our Cinema is subject to prevailing weather conditions. Specifically, rain will not prohibit the screenings of films. Screenings will be cancelled only if weather conditions present a danger at Fleet Steps at screening time. We all know that Sydney Summer weather can change quickly so we always hope to proceed with the screening and make weather-related decisions, based on the conditions at our event site at the time of screening.
Regardless of the forecast, we monitor the weather closely throughout the day and evening and keep everyone updated on Facebook, Instagram and our website. Our number one priority is safety, so if we have to make the difficult call to cancel to ensure our patrons’ safety, we will do so, but our preference is to proceed with screening our great program of films if possible.

We are 100% cashless again this season, so make sure you bring along your credit or debit card.
