So it is that when a young woman is born in the same bay in 1950, she is named Parthenope. Parthenope (Celeste Dalla Porta) grows into a captivating young woman, whose intelligence and beauty hold everyone in her thrall. She impressively navigates the complexities of an emotionally volatile family, as well as the endless attention of boys and men, and devotes herself to the study of anthropology.
