Winner of the Jury and Best Actress at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Emilia Pérez is a swaggering musical crime thriller, with a storyline that’s audacious, unique and utterly absorbing. Set in modern-day Mexico, the story begins when an overqualified and undervalued lawyer, Rita (Zoe Saldaña), receives an unexpected brief, to help a cartel leader withdraw from his business and realise a plan he has been secretly preparing for years: to become the woman he has always dreamt of being. The change sets in train a series of events that will draw four women into each other’s worlds, at first harmoniously, but then, as the past begins to catch up, everything Rita has worked to build begins to unravel.

“Emilia Pérez is the sort of movie that’s willing to spike a bloody, climactic shootout with an earnest love song, which is to say, it’s like no other movie at all.” – The New York Times

“You’ve never seen anything in your life like Jacques Audiard’s Spanish musical about violent passions starring Zoë Saldaña, Selena Gomez and trans actress Karla Sofia Gascón in career-defining performances that take a piece out of you. This you don’t want to miss.”ABC News
