On Valentine’s Day, a film that celebrates all the pain and joy of love, and stars half a dozen of the great actors of our time. Cal Weaver (Steve Carrell) is living the American dream. He has a good job, a gorgeous house, great children and a beautiful wife Emily (Julianne Moore). Problem is Emily is secretly bored, wants a divorce and has been unfaithful with work colleague David Lindhagen (Kevin Bacon). Over 40 and suddenly single, Cal is adrift and clueless, in the fickle world of dating. Enter, Jacob Palmern (Ryan Gosling), a self-styled player who takes Cal under his wing and teaches him how to be a hit with the ladies. When Jacob meets Hannah (Emma Stone) and Cal meets Kate (Marisa Tomei), worlds collide and things start to become deliciously complicated, crazy, and stupid.

“Nothing more (or less) than an enchanting light comedy of romantic confusion… It’s a movie that understands love because it understands pain.”Entertainment Weekly
