The amazing Emma Stone again shows her extraordinary range in the latest absurdist black-comedy-thriller from Yorgos Lanthimos (THE FAVOURITE, POOR THINGS, KINDS OF KINDNESS). As gripping as it is hilarious, BUGONIA is the tale of two young men, Teddy (a superb Jesse Plemons) and Don (Aidan Delbis) who kidnap powerful CEO Michelle (Stone), believing she is secretly an alien who wants to destroy Earth. While Teddy and Don try to extract the truth from their captive, she, a woman possessing considerable abilities, is intent on escape. Meantime in the outside world the search for Michelle is underway. From this platform, Lanthimos launches us, amused and intrigued, into absurdist heaven.
