The Lost King

A fabulous British charmer, this yarn is based on a true story that celebrates the power of the outsider to change history. Amateur historian, separated mother of two, and recently unemployed woman, Philippa Langley is relentless in her quest to find the remains of King Richard III. (Lost for over 500 years and ultimately being found in a carpark in Leicester) 

Met with utter incomprehension by her friends and family and with scepticism and dismissiveness by experts and academics, she is guided by instinct and spectral visions and refuses to be ignored. THE LOST KING follows Langley as she takes on the country's most eminent historians, forcing them to think again about one of the most controversial kings in England's history.

Each AFTRS presentation will be introduced by part of the crew that made that film, giving you an insight into the past, present and future of Australian film. Prior to the screening of The Lost King, the AFTRs presentation of Save Our Soul will be shown.
